(Baltimore, MD) November 1, 2016 - Allovue, Inc., a Baltimore-based education finance technology company, is pleased to announce its move into R-House, a brand new two-story multi-use space at 29th Street & Remington Avenue, in the fast-growing Remington neighborhood of Baltimore City. The move represents Allovue’s investment in Baltimore’s burgeoning tech and education industries, and the permanent central address reflects CEO and Founder Jess Gartner’s commitment to the city where her idea became a reality.
Allovue, which previously occupied offices at The Co-Op in Mt. Vernon and Spark in Power Plant Live!, is excited to begin their company’s next chapter in such a beautiful space. “I feel like this move is perfect, because I started my life in Baltimore with Seawall,” said Gartner, noting her time as a resident of Miller’s Court Apartments while she was in Teach for America, “So to have Allovue call R-House home is a perfectly full-circle moment for me.”
Seawall partner Jon Constable agrees that the move suits both Allovue and Seawall’s values perfectly. “Seawall’s goal was always to attract and retain educators in Baltimore and boy did we knock this out of the park,” said Constable, “Jess was among the first teachers to move in to Miller’s Court years ago, struck out on her own as an entrepreneur and ended up as our first office tenant in this incredible new project. There’s a symbiosis there that is wholly representative of the commitment to the city made by both Gartner and Allovue.”
Developed by Seawall Development and designed by The Verve Partnership—both Baltimore-based companies— R-House is the new home of Allovue, as well as yoga/movement studio Movement Lab and will host several restaurants on its first floor, due to open in the coming months. Local residents may remember the building as the former home of Anderson Automotive.
Allovue’s new office occupies half of the building’s second floor and accommodates the company’s growing staff and technological needs. The nearly 6,500 square foot office includes available desks for rent to local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and fellow startups.
