High Desert Education Services District supports four school districts in Oregon, helping them provide equitable, high-quality education. This involves responding to each district’s unique and pressing needs, coordinating across government agencies to provide services, and leveraging economies of scale for service delivery.
Working with different districts presents challenges. The districts serviced by HDESD use different ERPs, and HDESD regularly pulls data from disparate sources. HDESD manages over 60 different programs, and these programs have different funding sources. This means HDESD is responsible for tracking multiple grants over numerous schools. Traditional methods for monitoring expenses, like Excel spreadsheets, become extremely complex when tracking expenses and funding sources across so many different programs and schools. HDESD was looking for a streamlined way to monitor spending across funding sources.
CFO Rochelle Friend believes partnering with Allovue will help HDESD focus on supporting students with the highest-quality programming and services. “Our ESD focuses on providing services for high-needs and under-represented student groups, so we have to ensure that our dollars can be tracked with fidelity. We are excited about the opportunity to simplify the way we track and present financial data to our site and department leaders so that we can focus on addressing our students’ needs.”
Allovue provides software tools that simplify complex data to make monitoring spending intuitive. Allovue’s Manage software shares information with district ERPs to make financial management easier, which means budget owners always interact with up-to-date information—without the threat of breaking a spreadsheet or overwriting data.
Emily Martin, an Account Advisor at Allovue, explains how Allovue’s software will help simplify workflows at HDESD. “Historically, tracking financial data has been very labor- and time-intensive for HDESD. But with Manage in place, HDESD’s program managers, liaisons, admins, and district end users will all have access to their financial data with the click of a button.”
